Katie is one of the hardest working people I know. She seems like she has something going on 24/7 and through it all she is one of the most loving and dedicated mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend out there. Luckily I’ve had her in my life for almost 20 years and she has become one of my best friends and she married one of the best men I’ve ever met. She constantly amazes me with her huge heart and concern for others. I feel very fortunate to have her in my life.
Greig & Marissa are two of the best people I know. They’ve been there for Elena & me during the best and worst of times ever since we’ve known them. Greig & I go all the way back to high school and Marissa isn’t as long but their love and concern for us and all of their other friends is undeniable. They’re that couple that is always up for a good time and loves to experience new things. They also will do anything possible to help their loved ones, their community and any good cause. We look forward to have many more amazing times with them for many years to come.
I’ve been lucky enough to have a hard working dedicated manager for the past year. Jenn has given her heart and soul to Pepsi and our sales team since the first day she took over as our manager. She constantly works long hours and goes above and beyond to make us the best team we can be. I look forward to working with her as long as possible and watching her grow in her career.
Don’t get me wrong, I already have the best mother, stepmother & mother in law a guy could ask for but I’ve also been lucky enough to have other amazing women in my life that have loves and supported me like I was their own son. One of these women is the mother of the man who officiates my wedding, Kathie Mersereau. Ever since Scott and I became close in high school, she has watched out for me and shown me unconditional love. I feel honored to be in her presence because I’ve watched her be one of the best mothers I know to Scott & Kelly and turn into a picture perfect grandmother to her many grandkids. I know I don’t see or talk to her as much as I should but I want to thank her for helping me become the man I am today and for being a rock for me during many of the hardest ordeals I’ve had to deal with over the last 20 years.
I decided to double dip this weekend with PUG and got our favorite Colorado girls the newest craze, rainbow looms. Ella and Riley, the daughters of our good friends Jeff and Joy, have been the best hosts and tour guides for Elena and I every time we’re visiting Colorado. They’re so smart and full of overwhelming joy. Their smallest gestures and words always bring a smile to our face and to anyone they meet. We can’t wait to continue to watch them grow and see what amazing things they have in store for the future.
There were many directions I could of went with in regards to who to give the first PUG to, and I finally decided to go with one of my coworkers. Paulette is actually one of the people who interviewed me for my job at Pepsi and she has been on my sales team for as long as I can remember. She is one of those people that are always in a good mood no matter what is going on in her life. I’ve seen her overcome adversity, both professionally and personally, and she has always persevered. She can lift your spirits with a kind word, gesture or her beautiful singing voice. I want to thank her for helping me through many hard times over the last 12 years and for continuing to help me stay on the right path.
My reason for starting PUG, Performing Unexpected Gratitude, is to give me a way to show my gratitude to all the loved ones in my life. These people have all influenced my life in a positive way and I want to show my thanks out of the blue instead of just on their birthday or another special occasion. It doesn’t have to be anything big but just a kind word, action or gift. I know when someone does something nice for me it always lifts my spirit and I want to be able to do that for as many people as I can. So please follow my experiences and hopefully you’ll decide to PUG in the future!!!
